Summary:

We are looking for someone who can lead a team of Field Insurance Advisors - driving their business performance, coaching and mentoring their development, representing their wellbeing and acting as a role-model for delivering exceptional Member experiences.

Ideally this role will be based from our office in Willand, however, remote or hybrid working options may be considered - with regular travel to Willand and our Truro office expected.

Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
  • A strong understanding of the business strategy, brand, objectives and priorities.
  • A strong understanding of all key Cornish Mutual policy covers and product features, particularly our acceptance criteria.
  • A strong understanding of the company’s risk appetite and ability to accept risk within agreed authority levels.
  • A high and proven level of sales and negotiation skills.
  • A high and proven level of organisation and planning skills.
  • A good understanding of the local insurance market, including competitors’ products and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Cert CII qualified, or a willingness to work towards achieving this.
Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Being accountable for the performance, development and wellbeing of team members.
  • Delivering high quality performance management/appraisals.
  • Developing, implementing and being responsible for managing a regional area plan.
  • Creating strong relationships with internal stakeholders (at senior management level and within our Member Services and Claims teams) to deliver an exceptional Member experience.
  • Meaningfully contributing to business projects and product development initiatives as required, to enhance the business offering to Members.
  • Encouraging the team to develop new business in accordance with company’s risk appetite and within agreed authority levels, as well as delivering on retention targets.
  • Ensuring the team uphold the principles of Consumer Duty and meet internal Quality Monitoring standards.
  • Being known as a brand advocate within the region, including representing the company at appropriate markets, shows and events.
  • Acting as a leader and advocate for our “added-value” services, including Loss Prevention and Soil Management.
  • Ensuring all activity carried out by our Field Insurance team is compliant with standard industry regulations.
