Summary:

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-orientated Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team at an exciting time of change and improvement.

This is more than a traditional finance role—you’ll play a key part in ensuring our day-to-day financial operations run smoothly while also contributing to the ongoing development of our systems and processes. Brief, preliminary interviews - to shortlist candidates - will take place online on Thursday 28th May. Subsequent in-person interviews will be held at our Truro office on Wednesday 3rd June, with final-stage in-person interviews at our Truro office on Friday 12th June. 

All interview timeslots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

About The Role:

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate and efficient financial administration while supporting both colleagues and Members with queries. Alongside your core responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to improvements in how we work, including system enhancements and process optimisation.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a varied workload, and wants to be part of a team that is continuously evolving. Please provide your GCSE grades on application.

Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in a finance or accounts-based role
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence in using Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset
  • Openness to change and a keenness to improve how things are done
  • AAT level 3, or willingness to work towards achieving this (desirable)
Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Processing invoices, payments and premium refunds accurately and efficiently
  • Setting up and managing purchasing and claims payments
  • Performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  • Handling and responding to payment queries from colleagues and Members
  • Contacting Members regarding late or missing payments in a professional and supportive way
  • Ensuring all processes are followed in line with financial controls and procedures
  • Supporting ongoing improvements to systems and processes, including system changes
