Summary:

We're expanding our Finance team and looking for a proactive, forward-thinking Finance Assistant who wants to do more than simply process transactions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a finance function that is evolving. 

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate and efficient financial administration while supporting both colleagues and Members with queries. Alongside your core responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to improvements in how we work, including system enhancements and process optimisation.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a varied workload, and wants to be part of a team that is continuously evolving. 

Brief, preliminary interviews - to shortlist candidates - will take place online on Thursday 23rd July. Subsequent in-person interviews will be held at our Truro office on Monday 27th July.

All interview timeslots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in a finance, accounts or finance administration role 
  • Knowledge of payments, purchase ledger, reconciliations and core finance processes
  • Strong Excel and systems skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and suggest better solutions 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities Will Include:

You'll be responsible for a variety of core finance activities, including:

  • Processing invoices, payments and refunds accurately and on time
  • Performing reconciliations and supporting treasury activities
  • Managing payment-related queries from colleagues and Members
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and accurate audit trails

Alongside this, you'll help us:

  • Identify inefficient processes and suggest practical improvements
  • Support automation initiatives and system enhancements
  • Improve data quality, reporting and consistency
  • Reduce reliance on manual processes and individual knowledge
  • Embed new ways of working across the Finance team
