Cornish Mutual is expanding its teams in Dorset and Somerset to meet growing demand from farms and rural businesses in the two counties. Daisy Jackson from the Dorset-Somerset border and Shane Moore from East Dorset are the latest to join the South West insurer’s Field Force team.
Cornish Mutual has Field Force teams based across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. Being a mutual organisation means Cornish Mutual is owned by its customers, who are its Members. As part of the Field Force team, Shane and Daisy will visit farms and businesses to advise them on their insurance needs.
Daisy Jackson is a farmer’s daughter with a background in insurance. After attending King Arthur’s School in Wincanton, she completed an apprenticeship with insurance firm Brokerbility before joining commercial insurer Alan and Thomas. Daisy still helps with the running of her family’s dairy farm in Bruton, where she lives.
Daisy said: “Farming is a real passion of mine and I always wanted a career that was linked to agriculture. I’ve lived on the farm all my life and still roll up my sleeves to help out when I need to, which helps me relate to Cornish Mutual’s farming Members. I also think my local knowledge is an advantage when I’m out visiting Members on their farms or in their businesses.
“I really like the culture at Cornish Mutual. My career so far has been in insurance, but here at Cornish Mutual it’s a totally different level of service.”
Shane Moore has a background in insurance, finance and retail and has lived in East Dorset, on the edge of the New Forest, all his life. He worked as a financial advisor with Lloyds Banking group before spending three years with insurance firm LV. Shane lives in Ferndown with his wife and two children.
Shane said: “Coming to Cornish Mutual has been like a breath of fresh air. The whole ethos of the company is around doing what is right for our Members. Here in Dorset I know that people really appreciate a high quality, personal, face to face service and that is exactly what Cornish Mutual offers.
“Having such a varied background and a commitment to excellent customer service means I can bring a lot of experience to the role. It’s basically the job I’ve been dreaming of having for the last 20 years.”
Cornish Mutual Sales & Operations Leader Philip Wilson said: “Growing numbers of Dorset’s farms and rural businesses are coming to Cornish Mutual for their insurance. We pride ourselves on offering a personal service so are expanding our Dorset and Somerset teams to ensure we have a strong network of locally based advisors to support our Members.
“Daisy and Shane will help us serve our existing Members in Dorset and Somerset as well as supporting us to grow our Membership across the two counties.”
