We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Infrastructure Solutions Specialist to join our IT Support team. Taking the lead in several technical areas, you will drive innovation and integrate new services to provide a seamless and reliable experience for colleagues and Members - developing and exploiting new opportunities within our suite of applications. We will fully support you with opportunities to develop and gain new skills.
- Previous experience working in IT
- Proficiency in major operating systems e.g. Windows and Linux
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, to explain complex technical concepts in simple, non-technical terms
- Ability to create clear and detailed documentation/records of issues for future reference
- Previous experience in Microsoft Azure, Network design, cyber security, Docker, Kubernetes and storage/backup expertise
- Previous service desk management experience, helping to triage issues and engage with front end users
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to break down large bodies of work into manageable projects
- Experience working with telephony and printers
- Knowledge of security principles, data protection, virus prevention, and an understanding of potential cyber risks and preventative measures
- Scripting and automation in Python, PowerShell or similar
- Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on a range of computer hardware components and software applications for PCs and mobile
- Comp TIA A+ qualification or similar
- Familiarity with Active Directory is desirable
- Improving and enhancing IT processes, systems and architecture for the benefit of our Members and colleagues
- Taking ownership of tasks from start to finish, and driving solutions forward to meet our objectives
- Helping team members develop and improve new and existing skills in line with Cornish Mutual’s values
- Engaging with the wider business to identify, design and ultimately solve business problems through technology
- Participating in cross-team discussions and workshops to develop new, and improve existing, solutions
- Contributing to regular IT Infrastructure roadmap planning
