Sadly, no
public event is completely free from the risk of an accident
spoiling the day.
Cornish Mutual cannot prevent these accidents, but we can offer
you peace of mind by providing first-class insurance with a minimum
of fuss.
As a company based in the South West, we understand the
importance of traditional events to our local, rural communities,
and we'll do our level best to give you just the right cover,
without needless bureaucracy, at a sensible cost.
Public Liability Cover
The basic cover that almost every special event needs is public
liability. This gives protection if you, as organiser of the event,
are found to be at fault for injury or damage suffered by a member
of the public, or their property.
Depending on your particular event, any of the following might
also be helpful:
Employers Liability Cover
The law demands that you insure against any accidents that
happen to employees as a result of your negligence (not technically
required if they're close relatives but still a good idea).
Importantly for events, this includes volunteers.
Property
This cover protects goods, equipment, fixtures, utensils and the
like which are owned or being looked after by the event organisers,
in case they are stolen or lost in a fire.
Personal Accident
This gives cover if organisers or voluntary helpers are unable
to work because they have been injured organising or taking part in
the event.
Money
This covers against loss of any cash, notes, cheques that the
organisers are using or have collected in connection with the event
- such as ticket money, rent for a venue or a charity collection
box.
