Cornish Mutual - Farm Insurance

Please note! We usually only offer Vehicle Insurance cover to existing Members and their immediate families, or new Members who are taking out other policies with us at the same time.

Single vehicle insurance will apply to most Members, as it is for those who want to insure just one, or only a few vehicles. Each insurance quote is based on the vehicle’s individual features, such as make, model, age or value and its drivers.

Fleet insurance is for those Members who are insuring at least eight vehicles all together and want the flexibility of having their insurance priced on the fleet’s overall claims history.

Cover Options

There are three levels of cover available:

Comprehensive gives the widest cover. It protects you against fire, theft and accidental damage to your own vehicle, as well as any legal liability (such as injuries or damage to other road users) from driving it.

Third Party, Fire & Theft includes the same risks as a Comprehensive policy, except that you are not covered for accidental damage to your own vehicle.

Third Party Only is limited to any legal liability from driving the vehicle, and does not protect it against damage, fire, being stolen, or any other kind of loss.

Whichever level of cover you choose, all our policies include legal expenses insurance. This will help you to reclaim other, uninsured costs after an accident which was not your fault. These costs can include your policy excess, hire of a replacement vehicle, additional transport costs and “out of pocket” expenses.

No Claims Discount (NCD)

Many of our policies allow NCD to build up if you do not claim – up to a maximum of 70% discount for a private car. Maximum NCD is worth protecting, and we can do this for a small extra premium, as long as you do not claim more than twice in any five-year period.

When calculating your NCD, we do not count windscreen claims, or claims that were not your fault (as long as we have been able to recoup the full claim amount from the negligent party).
