If you are a rural or semi rural business working in the South West, Cornish Mutual will take the time to get to know your company, and create a tailored package of covers that matches your needs and expectations.
Or course, our relationship does not end there. We’ll review your cover regularly, to keep pace with changing circumstances and new regulations. Our local Insurance Inspectors are based in your community, making them easy to contact should you ever need advice.
Business situations are incredibly diverse - so the options available are understandably wide…
Our starting point is protection against risks that, if they occur, would threaten the survival of your business. We therefore strongly recommend that every business should have public liability cover.
Employers' liability cover protects you should an employee be injured and it is proved that it was your responsibility… and the weight of legislation on employers is growing all the time. While we'll work with you to spot and minimise the risks you face, insurance provides a “sleep easy” protection in case things do go wrong.
Although the law does not specifically require you to take employers’ liability insurance for close relatives, it is a good idea to take out cover for everyone you employ. This way, should an accident happen, your relative can receive the same compensation as any other worker.
Insurance of your buildings, stock (whether owned by you or in your custody or control), refrigerated stock, goods in transit, machinery, fixtures, fittings and vehicles can all be decided on the basis of what you want to insure, with tailored levels of cover and excess.
If you rent out all or part of a premises, this cover protects you against an insured event making it unfit for occupation.
To cover your loss of profit should your business activities be interrupted following insured loss or damage.
Loss of business money for which you are legally responsible, including cover for loss due to the dishonesty of an employee, and compensation for an employee injured as a result of an attempt to steal money.
At Cornish Mutual we do not believe in encouraging you to buy cover you do not want. Our philosophy is to work with each Member so that their insurances meet their unique needs.
Our existing Members value our honesty and openness. If you deal with us you can be assured that, as a Mutual Insurer, your premium will work hard for your benefit and not be passed to shareholders.
