We offer a broad range of cover for farm and related business activities which are tailored to suit the indivdual needs of the farmer. This includes insurance for your home, property, vehicles, machinery, livestock, produce & loss of earnings.
With offices in Exeter and Truro, we believe that living and working in the South West makes us more accessible to our Members, and more able to understand and meet their insurance needs.
In addition to our two main offices, we have nineteen locally-based insurance inspectors throughout the region, from the far South West of Cornwall to the top of Somerset.
These local Insurance Inspectors offer a friendly, face-to-face service, as well as in-depth knowledge of the local area and conditions. They are always happy to visit, to give advice and help with managing risks, claims and quotes.
Your own, personal insurer
This local, personally tailored service sets Cornish Mutual apart from the crowd. We know it’s something our Members really value, particularly as insurance expertise and knowledge is becoming harder to find at a local level.
In fact, a 2007 independent study showed Cornish Mutual Members are far more satisfied with the service they receive than any of our competitors’ customers – and we’re working hard to make them happier still.

Cornish Mutual Insurance Services (CMIS)
Cornish Mutual’s subsidiary company Cornish Mutual Insurance Services (CMIS) has been set up to enhance Cornish Mutual’s current insurance offering to current and prospective Members. CMIS is an Appointed Representative of South Essex Insurance Brokers Ltd (SEIB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecclesiastical Insurance office plc.
We are able to arrange insurances through this our broker arm of the business and anyone who buys insurance through CMIS will be able to benefit from our Mutual status by becoming a Subsidiary Intermediary Member.
As a mutual organisation, Cornish Mutual is owned by its Members, we work solely for the benefit of our Membership not shareholders. Amongst other things this means we invest in being local and accessible to Members.
SEIB is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and act on CMIS Members behalf in arranging insurance.
