Cornish Mutual is pleased to announce
that it will be the title sponsor of Cornwall Food and
Drink's annual celebration of Cornish food and drink on Lemon
Quay, Truro this September.
The event, which runs from 28-30 September 2012 is now firmly
established as one of the nation's favourite food festivals,
attracting in excess of 40,000 visitors in 2011. With around 60
exhibitors, a packed timetable of chef demos, foodie talks, fun for
kids in the Funky Food Zone and lots more, there is something for
everyone over the three action-filled days.
Alan Goddard, managing director of Cornish Mutual, says: "The
Cornwall Food & Drink Festival is a fantastic event which
showcases the very best that Cornwall has to offer. Cornwall's
producers, suppliers and retailers are a really significant part of
the Duchy's economy and it's important that we help to promote
them. As a mutual organisation at the heart of the rural community
for over 100 years, we are delighted and proud to be supporting
this event, which fits so well with our own brand and community
ethos."
Cornish Mutual, based in Truro, employs more than 80 members of
staff. The company provides a range of insurance products for
farmers, small businesses, such as food and drink producers and
people in the rural communities of the South West. Around two
thirds of Cornwall's farmers are Cornish Mutual Members and the
company is a keen supporter of Cornwall Food & Drink
Festival.
Ruth Huxley, director of Cornwall Food & Drink, comments: "We
greatly value the support from Cornish Mutual, which plays such an
important role in this event and we would like to extend a huge
thank you for all their support.
"Cornish Mutual's sponsorship will help to ensure that this event
continues to grow and deliver even more fantastic activities,
cookery demonstrations and entertainment in 2012. The festival has
gone from strength to strength in recent years and we have every
intention of making this year's event even bigger and better than
before!"
