We offer a broad range of cover for individuals, farms and related business activities which are tailored to suit the individual needs of our Members. This includes insurance for your home, property, vehicles, machinery, livestock, produce & loss of earnings.
With a Member Services team based in Truro and
twenty one locally-based Insurance
Inspectors operating throughout Cornwall, Devon, Somerset
and Dorset, we believe that living and working in the South West
makes us more accessible to our Members, and better able to
understand and meet their insurance needs.
Our local Insurance Inspectors offer a friendly, face-to-face
service, as well as in-depth knowledge of the local area and
conditions. They are always happy to visit, to give advice and help
with managing risks, claims and quotes.
Your own, personal insurer
This local, personally tailored service sets Cornish Mutual
apart from the crowd. We know it's something our Members really
value, particularly as insurance expertise and knowledge is
becoming harder to find at a local level.
In fact, our May 2011 Member survey gave us over 90%
satisfaction for manner, attitude and insurance understanding when
taking out and new policy with us.

Cornish Mutual Insurance Services (CMIS)
Cornish Mutual's subsidiary company Cornish Mutual Insurance
Services (CMIS) has been set up to enhance Cornish Mutual's current
insurance offering to current and prospective Members. CMIS is an
Appointed Representative of South Essex Insurance Brokers Ltd
(SEIB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecclesiastical Insurance
office plc.
We are able to arrange insurances through this our broker arm of
the business and anyone who buys insurance through CMIS will be
able to benefit from our Mutual status by becoming a Subsidiary
Intermediary Member.
As a mutual organisation, Cornish Mutual is owned by its Members,
we work solely for the benefit of our Membership not shareholders.
Amongst other things this means we invest in being local and
accessible to Members.
SEIB is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services
Authority (FSA) and act on CMIS Members behalf in arranging
insurance.
